CNPC purchased Mongolia's oil and gas assets  in 2005, while also providing oilfield services in the country.



 
Oil and Gas Operations
Oilfields Services, Engineering and Construction 
 On April 1, 2005, CNPC purchased a 94.4% stake in three petroleum blocks-19, 21 and 22-from SOCO International PLC (UK). Located in the Tamsag Basin, Dornod Province, Mongolia, these blocks covers an area of 25,000 square kilometers. In November 2006, a commercial oil flow was obtained from preliminary prospecting well Ta19-34 at Block 19, with a daily output of 30 cubic meters.
